Keweenaw Historical Waterway Tours Aboard the Ranger III
Join Isle Royale National Park and Keweenaw National Historical Park aboard the Ranger III for summer 2019 Keweenaw Waterway Cruises.
All cruises depart at 12:30 pm from the Isle Royale National Park Houghton Visitor Center. Passengers must arrive by 12:00 pm for check-in. Cruises last between 2.5 to 3 hours and will travel south along the Keweenaw Waterway to the South Entry, venturing a short distance into Keweenaw Bay if conditions are pleasant, before returning to Houghton. Refreshments will be available at the Ranger III Grill, and passengers should bring a light jacket to protect against wind and chill.
During the first half of the voyage, a park ranger from Keweenaw National Historical Park will present a historical waterway tour.
Due to popularity, advance reservations are recommended. Reservations can be made Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, and Saturday, 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. Call (906) 482-0984 or stop by the Houghton Visitor Center. Ticket prices are $30.00 for adults, $15.00 for youth (age 1-15), and infants under one year receive a free ticket. The 165 foot Ranger III, piloted by Captain Rand Attaway, can carry up to 128 passengers.
