MDOT Adopt-a-Highway Summer Clean-up |
The Keweenaw Co-op’s SUMMER MDOT Highway Cleanup is
WEDNESDAY, July 20, 6:30-8:00 PM
Please join the Keweenaw Co-op Board of Directors for our 2nd highway clean-up event of 2022 on Wednesday evening, July 20, from 6:30-8:00 PM. Our pick-up location is at Hwy US-41, from (old) Paavola Road and north for two miles.
We have permission to park and meet at Masonic Lodge 51340 US Highway 41 which is in the middle of the 2-mile stretch (east side of the road). All participants will sign in, confirm they have viewed the safety materials, and divide into groups to do the cleanup. Volunteers will walk down one side, and return on the opposite side back to their cars. Many hands make light work, so we appreciate you volunteering to help!
All supplies (bags, safety vests, plastic gloves) will be provided at the event. Wear brightly-colored clothing and dress appropriately for the weather. The event will happen rain or shine unless the weather is severe (thunder/lighting). Refreshments, compliments of the Keweenaw Co-op, will be provided at the completion of the cleanup.
Please complete this sign up form CLICK HERE if you can help. Each participant needs to sign up, so we have a record of all participants to forward to MDOT. Feel free to invite your friends & family members (12 to 16-year-olds must be with an adult).
All participants need to review the 4 links below and view the 6-minute MDOT Safety video prior to the event on 7/20/22. All participants will sign in and confirm they have viewed the safety materials at the beginning of the event.
